งานออกแบบนามบัตร (ที่สามละ) ในเจ็ดวันที่ผ่านมานี้
ชิ้นนี้เป็นงานด่วน เพราะต้องเอาไปใช้แจกที่งาน Anglo Thai Society ที่จัดที่ House Of Lords, Westminster. คนใช้ก็คือประธาน Thai Society จาก LSE (เบ๊เรานั่นเอง) ฮ่าๆ

งานนี้สบายหน่อย ไม่ต้องใช้โลโก้ช้างเอราวัณของสามัคคี จัดได้ตามอิสระ
แต่อยากให้ดูง่ายและโปรหน่อย เพราะกลุ่มเป้าหมายที่จะรับนามบัตรนี้คือพวก Investment Banking ทั้งหลาย และมีข้อจำกัดคือเครื่องปรินต์ตอนนี้ต้องยืมชาวบ้านใช้ กระดาษก็เลือกมากไม่ได้ เพราะร้านปิดหมดแล้ว

ด่วนจริงๆ ก็เลยจัดสี ขาว-เทาเป็นหลัก (ดูโปร-เรียบ-เนี้ยบและประหยัดดี เอิ้กๆ)
ด้วยความี่ประธานเป็นผู้หญิงก็เลยพยายามใช้ตัวอักษรที่ไม่ดูหนักมาก แต่แสดงสถานะความเป็นประธานได้ชัดเจน ใส่ลายแพทเทิร์นเข้าไปหน่อยให้ดู feminine ขึ้นเล็กน้อย

ก็ได้ออกมาหน้าตาเช่นนี้แล

As of now, my lovely Apple Macbook turns 1 year old. It sure has been through with me.
I took it virtually everywhere, mountain, sea, urban outdoor, even at tennis court! Regardless of physical punishment, I had it running almost 24/7. As it happens, it’s getting too old and could no longer serve my needs. It’s too slow and dying fast.

Then, after a long thought of getting a new portable computer (aka Macbook Pro) despite the thinness of my wallet, a thought suddenly strikes me…

Portable Computer, I’m doing it… very wrong…

Who else in the world would punish a laptop like I did!?
I have it on and running non stop (torrenting, seeding, encoding, if you will.) Basically it does a lot of work all months long.

Now a laptop is not intended for such purpose. It meant to be portable and run when only needed to. Not around the clock plus heavy operations. In terms of hardware, laptop components are limited and short life. It’s not as fast as desktop because every parts need to be so small to fit in, and that compromise system performance. The screen backlight (brightness) will decay after long use. Usually people would not notice since they don’t use laptop all day long (like me). But only after a year my laptop screen is almost dead. (Calibration with Spyder 2 did help a bit).

After all, I am running my laptop in one year as much as others run theirs in 4 years combined. Battery life also decreases overtime… Moreover, I already broke 2 sticks of ram by almost overheating them! (Curse you Intel Core 2 Duo!, you are hotter than hell!) There is really no point using it as a desktop replacement, that will only serve to kill the machine!

I don’t think a laptop should be doing -

^ this kind of work everyday.

I have the idea of getting a Macbook Pro though, but it was rather pointless for I will be pushing it again. Though the margin of tolerance might have gone up a little higher than the Macbook. But I still dig the idea of having a powerful laptop. Certainly, there is a heavy price(tag) to pay.

This

might have to be my truest choice, after all.

And one day I will own at least 2 of these!!
